Oh, birthdays.
Let's just say turning 39 was not my finest moment. Sigh.
But, I made a rug decision and said rug is now in the house. So there's that.
It is SO pretty, but jury's still out. I meant to avoid the Beni Ourain train, but looks like I hopped on the Marrakech express.
I had just been admiring this house in House Beautiful, and it feels like this could be an inspiration in terms of palette, texture, and overall slightly global vibe.
I'm just not sure it's enough color for me.
What do you think?
Hummm. First of all Happy Birthday! I love the rug and the inspiration photos. I do think it lacks color, but the overall look is great. You could always add your touch to it.

Thanks Sharon! Yes, thinking about all the ways I could layer color in to the space...I love that the rug ties the upholstered pieces in the room together beautifully, so we will see!
DeleteHappy birthday, Heather. I like the neutral rug, leaves the door open for combining with every color under the sun!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim! I know, you are so right. Also it occurs to me with my future plans for a bright and colorful dining room rug, neutral is the way to go in the living room. And it really is a beautiful rug! Thanks for your input, I always appreciate another designer eye. :)
DeleteLove! And it looks so comfy. I'm jealous - I bought a grey and cream chevron rug for our family room. I love it, but it's wool. For some reason, it never occurred to me that wool is itchy. Ugh. So while I love the pattern, the rug isn't as cozy as I wanted. If this new rug is cozy, I think you should fall in love with it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! I agree - the rug is nice and neutral and you can work in color in other places. Take care!
